Many years ago, a young shepherd boy, David saved a nation in crisis, because he knew that the battle was the LORD\u2019s!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The story of David and Goliath in 1 Samuel 17 unfolds in a time of national crisis for Israel. The Philistine army had gathered to challenge God\u2019s people, and their champion, Goliath, stood over nine feet tall, clad in intimidating armour, taunting Israel\u2019s army daily. For forty days, no one dared to face him, not even the seasoned soldiers of King Saul\u2019s army. Into this tense scene walked David, a young shepherd boy sent only to deliver food to his brothers. What was meant to be an errand became a divine appointment, as David\u2019s faith in God stirred him to face the giant everyone else feared.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

David\u2019s courage was not born from military training or physical strength, but from his relationship with God and the victories he had experienced in private. He remembered how God had empowered him to defeat the lion and the bear while protecting his sheep. That same God, David believed, would deliver him from Goliath. Courage, then, is not merely an emotion \u2014 it is a conviction rooted in past faithfulness. When we recall what God has done before, we find the strength to trust Him again, even in our greatest battles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our giants today may not carry swords or spears, but they can be just as intimidating \u2014 fear, doubt, financial struggles, illness, or broken relationships. Like David, we must choose to see our problems through the lens of God\u2019s power, not our own limitations. When we face challenges with courage grounded in faith, we open the door for God to display His glory. Remember: the same God who gave David victory over Goliath is with you today. Take courage, the battle is the Lord\u2019s, and the giant will fall.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lord, thank You for being bigger than every giant I will ever face. Help me to remember Your past faithfulness and to trust You in the battles before me. Fill my heart with courage and my mouth with declarations of faith. I believe that the battle belongs to You, and with You on my side, victory is certain.
